Heading into 2025, the top three girls teams in Metro Detroit have really started to separate themselves from a deep pool of talented teams. Surprisingly, one of those top three teams isn’t Detroit Edison.

The high school winter season is a little more than a month old and one fact is clear: The South Shore is loaded with girls basketball talent. The area was shut out of state titles last season, but there are plenty of contenders across several divisions ready to change that narrative.
