Nintendo gave gamers a sneak peek at the Switch 2, but little else. Here's what the teaser video confirmed, plus the rumors still swirling around the upcoming console.

Nintendo recently highlighted three big games coming to the original Switch in 2025. They are Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on March 20, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Following the release of its financial results on Tuesday, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa answered a series of questions from investors. Among those questions was one about the future of software on the Switch after the Switch 2 arrives. You can read Furukawa’s answer below (as translated by Nintendo Everything ):

Given all of the apparent changes to the Joy-Con Controllers with the Nintendo Switch 2, such as the rumored ability to use them like a PC mouse, a true follow-up to 1-2 Switch could be a very smart way for Nintendo to introduce these new additions to the more casual side of its audience on day one.

Fans have been speculating about PC gaming mouse-like functionality for the Switch 2 ever since optical sensors appeared in leaks last month. Nintendo then teased the feature in the new Switch’s reveal trailer shortly after.

The first Switch was tough to get at launch. It seems like Nintendo is trying to change that for the successor.
