A rocket launch from Florida that will be visible outside of the Sunshine State was delayed June 16 without a new date. United Launch Alliance will launch the second batch of Amazon satellites into space — and it's possible people can see the Atlas V rocket far outside of Florida.
Update for 1 p.m. ET on June 16: The planned June 16 launch of the Kuiper-2 mission was scrubbed due to an issue with its United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket — specifically, "an engineering observation of an elevated purge temperature within the booster engine," ULA wrote via X on June 16. No new target launch date has been announced.
United Launch Alliance scrubbed an attempt for what would have been its second launch of the year, another mission for Amazon's effort to compete with SpaceX's Starlink internet constellation.
ULA launched Amazon's second group of satellites as it pursues its initiative to provide fast, reliable broadband to customers around the world.
