Ukraine launched waves of drone attacks targeting oil and power facilities in western parts of Russia overnight, officials and media outlets reported on Wednesday.

Day 1,069 of the Russia-Ukraine war brings new developments. Russia claims to have shot down 32 Ukrainian drones, while Ukraine reported downing 57 of 104 Russian drones in counterattacks. Drone strikes caused fires and damage in Kyiv’s region but no casualties.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine released a recording showing successful attacks on the equipment of advancing Russian forces. In coordination with units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they managed to eliminate significant enemy forces "in one of the most intense sections of the front" within a short period.

KYIV (Reuters) -Overnight Russian air attacks wounded eight people, set a private business on fire and damaged residential buildings around Ukraine, local officials said on Tuesday. Ukraine's air force said it shot down 65 drones and 28 more did not reach their targets in the barrage.

Another 28 imitation attack drones were suppressed by electronic warfare. Two more flew toward Russia and Belarus. The hunt for one remaining one drone is still underway. Damage to various residential buildings and private homes,
