In a letter written to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, the Election Commission of India on Wednesday strongly refuted the party's allegations of tampering of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the Haryana assembly elections.

On Wednesday, the Election Commission responded to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's statements, describing them as “far from a legitimate part of free speech.”

EC began counting of votes for the Assembly elections in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday at 8 AM. This is the first significant electoral outcome following the recent Lok Sabha elections where BJP returned to power with the support of its allies.
