Nicolas Cage is deep in talks to star in True Detective season 5 - the next iteration of the moody crime drama. The Oscar winner is up for an as-yet-unknown role in the anthology drama, but will presumably play the law enforcement officer at the center of another mystery thriller.

Filming on Season 5 is slated to begin in 2026 for a 2027 premiere on HBO.
