Derek Carr has twice traveled to New Orleans to meet with Saints doctors in recent weeks, and a decision is coming on his future with the team.

The New Orleans Saints continue their quarterback conundrum. Veteran QB Derek Carr remains on the roster, but they just drafted rookie Tyler Shough in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. There has been tons of mystery surrounding Carr this offseason.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Carr tried an injection and rehab but it wouldn't allow him to possibly return to 100 percent unless he underwent surgery. The team also announced that the veteran passer had a labral tear and "significant degenerative changes" to his rotator cuff, which were discovered in March.
