Tight end Noah Fant, who had 130 catches for 1,400 yards and 5 TDs in his three seasons with the Seahawks, has been released, saving almost $9 million in cap space.

The Seattle Seahawks executed a mini surprise on Sunday afternoon by releasing veteran tight end Noah Fant from his contract. General manager John Schneider made that decision official just two days before the Seahawks were set to report to training camp. It was a borderline disrespectful move to Fant.

Many fans had hopes for a splash addition after Seattle moved on from Noah Fant, but it appears the team had other plans.
