Robert Saleh is rejoining the San Francisco 49ers as defensive coordinator after leaving to become the head coach of the New York Jets in 2021. Saleh’s time in New York was rough to say the least—finishing with an overall record of 20-36 through just over three seasons.

Saleh, who went 20-36 over three-plus seasons with the Jets before being fired after a 2-3 start last season, said there was no temptation to go anywhere but San Francisco.

Robert Saleh is back with the 49ers as their defensive coordinator and he said on Thursday that he had no interest in filling that role for any other team than the one he worked for from 2017 to 2020.
