Garbage truck partially falls into sinkhole in downtown Omaha
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A garbage truck was pulled out of a sinkhole in downtown Omaha on Thursday. At around 11 a.m., the Omaha Fire Department reported an “incident” involving a sinkhole near 16th and Harney streets. City officials shut off gas and power to a “large portion” of the downtown area, according to the fire department.
Police say the driver had navigated around a road closure sign directing traffic away from a water main break.
