WASHINGTON (7News) — Ahead of the Army's 250th birthday celebration and parade on June 14, a formidable fleet of military vehicles has started to assemble, including massive tanks at D.C.'s West Potomac Park. 7News cameras got a glimpse at some of those tanks, including the 27-ton M109 Paladin.
As Washington, D.C. prepares for the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, armored tanks have begun to arrive ahead of Saturday's celebration.
Coinciding with Trump's 79th birthday, the parade will feature tanks, bands and thousands of troops in honor of the Army’s 250th anniversary celebration.
In preparation for the event, Army engineers installed steel plates in 13 locations along the parade route to protect roads where they would be most vulnerable.
Military veterans and local residents gathered in Washington, D.C. on June 14 to protest the military parade, President Trump, and ICE raids across the country.
