A lawsuit filed Monday in U.S. court in Honolulu challenges an admissions policy of Kamehameha Schools, the Hawaiʻi private school system that gives preference to applicants who are Native Hawaiian. A rally organized by Kamehameha Schools at ʻIolani Palace on Tuesday was in response, and this isn't the first time KS has had to defend its policy.⁠ ⁠ The Conversation spoke to Jacob Aki, the president of the Oʻahu Council of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs, who was on the palace grounds for
