You just lift the tray with the grow medium and greens growing in it, and add your fertilizer water or plain water to the no hole tray underneath. The no hole tray acts as your water resivore, and the tray with the medium in it has holes. So when you lower the top tray down, the roots will pull the water from the resivore beneath (capillary action) and water the microgreens. You never fill it to where it floods t
