There's a little over one week left to see "Meret Oppenheim: My Exhibition." Meret Oppenheim first made a sketch of "Hand (Tower)" when she was in Paris in 1933. She created the three-dimensional object over thirty years later in 1964. ✍️ The stack of four panels was made with plaster mass to give soft, rounded corners resembling pillows. The columns at the top of the tower resemble bones, suggesting an outstretched right hand. Commenting on the early drawing many years later, the artist wrote,
