Tonight at 6pm, the City of Turlock is proposing to spend $9.95 million to build 50 Transitional Housing units on city-owned property on S. Walnut Road, next to Kelso’s Wrecking Yard, and near the W. Main Street and Highway 99 area. The units, built out of shipping containers, would cost about $1,100 per sq/ft - more than 3x the average cost of real estate in Turlock including land.
